What does Cooperative Exchange mean (benefits of) to you and or your company?
Through the Cooperative Exchange, ZirMed is able to:
- Identify and manage the real impacts of current and emerging industry regulations—how they affect clearinghouses at the state and national level
- Be a part of a combined voice to advocate effectively on issues that affect the industry
- Leverage updates from Memorandum of Understanding organizations to work more effectively with organizations across healthcare
What is one goal your Committee would like to accomplish this year?
Develop and maintain a repository of the organizations our members participate in—and establish a contact person for each organization. This information will be very helpful to target certain communications and emerging-trend information—and will enable us to more quickly build participation lists for issues that affect the industry.
What one of the most memorable experience as a member or leader of Cooperative Exchange.
One of the most memorable and proud experiences I have as a member of the Cooperative Exchange is the work our membership did to have clearinghouses included as a stakeholder in the ONC Interoperability Roadmap. Clearinghouses were missing from the initial draft for comment—Cooperative Exchange members helped ensure they were included in the final.
Why should representatives of the clearinghouse industry be a part of Cooperative Exchange?
The Cooperative Exchange is a great way to keep up to date on issues and emerging trends in Health IT. Many organizations struggle with budgets and resources to cover all the organizations that could impact the clearinghouse industry. The Cooperative Exchange simplifies this process and enables its members to benefit from understanding how others in the same line of business may be affected.
What motivates you to work hard?
I am the type of person who enjoys being challenged. Healthcare and Health IT are constantly changing and evolving and the changes are very complex. This is a great industry for someone who likes to be challenged and I am happy to be a part of it.
